Prime Controls, a leading manufacturer of dual sheet metal sensors and controls for the canmaking, automotive, appliance and other metal forming industries, is pleased to announce enhancements to its industry-leading SD230 dual housing and missing tab detector with the introduction of the SD230 FLEX and SD230 MINI.
Prime Controls has enhanced its series of dual housing and missing tab detectors with the introduction of the SD230 MINI, a smaller, vertically DIN-rail mounted unit that reduces the demand for control cabinet space. It has also upgraded its industry-leading SD230 control with the new generation SD230 FLEX. The dual-function, fully configurable SD230 FLEX replaces multiple variations of the SD200 series units, simplifying customer inventory requirements.
Prime Controls’ SD230 FLEX and SD230 MINI flexible controls provide a simple and reliable way to monitor can ends moving through a converting press or in the unloading of curlers and liners. Together with a set of probes installed at the infeed and discharge of each lane, the SD230 FLEX and SD230 MINI detect both double shells and missing tabs. Enhancements to the SD230 FLEX and SD230 MINI include a fully configurable dual-function detector that eliminates the need to carry multiple variations of the system, along with new multicolor LEDs for more intuitive status notification. The SD230 MINI is the same great detector but in a smaller, more compact package that can be easily mounted on a DIN rail and drastically reduces space requirements in the press control cabinet. Both detectors function the same as the previous generation of dual housing and missing reed detectors.
