EcoVadis, one of the most trusted and independent sustainability rating platforms, has once again awarded Ardagh a gold rating. This is Ardagh’s sixth and highest rating, recognizing the group’s responsible and sustainable practices. With a score in the 97th percentile, the rating reflects the quality of Ardagh’s sustainability management systems.

It should be noted that gold is only achieved by 5% of the companies assessed by EcoVadis and Ardagh’s rating comes with an improved score of 71, up from 67 in 2020. This rating confirms the Group’s dedication to implementing its sustainability strategy, launched in 2020. The strategy, which reinforces the company’s commitment to the circular economy, is based on three pillars: emissions, ecology and social. The strategy also sets ambitious commitments and targets for the next decade.

John Sadlier, sustainability director at Ardagh Group notes that “as a leader in infinitely sustainable metal and glass packaging, we have set specific targets to reduce our environmental impact. They include emissions reductions, renewable electricity supply and zero waste to landfill at our production facilities, to name a few. We are delighted to have improved our EcoVadis rating and look forward to achieving more on our sustainability journey towards 2030.”

In addition, by 2030, its objectives will continue to focus on CO2 reduction and maximizing the use of recycled materials. Ardagh has a clear objective to align with the UN and the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
