The U.S. company Anheuser-Busch has decided to lend its support to the communities most affected by the numerous and ferocious fires that are raging in some counties in the state of Colorado. Specifically, it has delivered 50,000 cans of emergency drinking water to support the troops working in the forest firefighting efforts, as well as the most affected population.

At the request of the American Red Cross, Anheuser-Busch has already sent a truckload of more than 50,000 cans of emergency drinking water to support local communities. The emergency drinking water donation will be delivered to Anheuser-Busch’s wholesale partner, Eagle Rock Distributing Co. of Colorado in Denver, CO, who will work with the Red Cross to distribute the resources to the communities most in need. Anheuser-Busch, Eagle Rock Distributing of Colorado and Super Coffee have also announced that they will donate an additional 1,700 cans of Ghost Energy and 4,300 bottles of Super Coffee to support staff and volunteers involved in the tough recovery and rebuilding efforts in Boulder County.

“The Red Cross is grateful for Anheuser-Busch’s generous donation that allows us to quickly distribute clean drinking water to families affected by the most devastating wildfires in Colorado history,” says Elizabeth Penniman, vice president of communications for the Red Cross who adds, “We can always count on Anheuser-Busch to be by our side supporting communities in crisis.”

Clean, safe drinking water was brewed locally at the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Fort Collins, CO, which as in previous disasters periodically pauses beer production throughout the year to can emergency drinking water to help communities in times of disaster.

“Colorado is such an important community to our company and to more than 1,000 colleagues who call it home, and our thoughts are with all those affected by the devastating wildfires,” says Gene Bocis, senior general manager of Anheuser-Busch Fort Collins Brewery. “Our team in Fort Collins is honored to be able to leverage our production capabilities to provide this critical donation to our friends and neighbors and hope it will bring them some relief as they recover,” he stresses.

It should be noted that Anheuser-Busch has a long tradition of supporting disaster relief efforts in partnership with associations such as the Red Cross, dating back to 1906. Since the inception of the emergency drinking water program in 1988, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesale partners have donated more than 90 million cans of water to U.S. communities affected by natural disasters and other crises.

Last year alone, Anheuser-Busch delivered more than 4 million cans of emergency drinking water to communities and volunteer fire departments in 49 U.S. states.
