Recently, American singer Katy Perry went viral on social networks after performing in a costume made of cans to promote the recycling of metal containers among her fans. Now he is in the news again, this time for his entrepreneurial foray as he has just teamed up with Amass master distiller Morgan McLachlan to launch his own range of non-alcoholic snacks, named ‘De Soi’.
This is not the first celebrity to enter the world of canned beverages as a business venture. The pop singer thus joins a long list of celebrities who have entered the world of wine and spirits in recent years, but is one of the biggest names to enter the non-alcoholic category, after Blake Lively, who launched her own line of mixers last year.
“As creative professionals and busy moms with a shared love of a spritz, we wanted a drink that was bubbly and delicious, but didn’t get in the way of early mornings and late nights,” Perry and McLachlan note. They also add that “it’s a drink that would be really fun to sip and allow us to feel present and engaged while taking initiative. A drink that married our passion for plants and healthier ingredients with a big, bold flavor and feel-good adaptogens.”
The new product is now available in three fun flavors: Golden Hour with citrus and lemongrass, Champignon Dreams with strawberries and grapefruit, and Purple Lune with blackberry nectar, vanilla oak and rose petals.
McLachlan’s Amass has also just launched Riverine, a refined non-alcoholic spirit designed to capture the lush landscape of the Pacific Northwest. In September, Amass introduced its first non-alcoholic cannabis-infused spirit, Afterdream. The new drink contains both THC and CBD.
