Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) has announced that two of its manufacturing plants have been certified as carbon neutral. Jordbro in Sweden and Vilas del Turbón in Spain, both of which are already the first sites to be certified carbon neutral by CCEP, an appointment that marks an important step in CCEP’s Net Zero 2040 ambition to reduce emissions from its value chain by 30% over the next decade.

Both were also chosen to be part of the program by demonstrating a historic reduction in their carbon emissions and have plans to continue to reduce emissions over the next three years in line with this target. They are also part of a pilot program that aims to have at least six CCEP sites also certified carbon neutral to the international PAS 2060 standard by the end of 2023.

This program is a key part of CCEP’s emissions reduction objective that focuses first on reducing emissions from its own value chain before investing in verified carbon offset projects, prioritizing those that remove carbon from the atmosphere to eliminate remaining emissions.
