Sav-Ty has recently launched an innovative new resealable closure system for beverage cans. This system will open up greater opportunities for sustainable, resealable beverage cans, enabling them to compete effectively with PET and glass bottles as packaging for multiple consumption occasions. The Sav-Ty™ resealable closure system opens up a range of possibilities for brand owners to develop their own sustainable products with two-piece and three-piece steel and aluminum cans.

Ergonomically designed for ease of use by the consumer, Sav-Ty™ has a great pouring facility. Simply lift the tab, turn the cap 90 degrees to open and drink, and close again. Sav-Ty™ is pressure resistant and leak proof and can be fitted to any of today’s beverage can ends or any size can and can therefore be seamed on standard beverage cans using existing filling equipment without the need to adjust the filling line.

The Sav-Ty™ concept is extremely versatile. The screw cap can be attached to the anti-rotation bracket. Its integrated soft-seal system can also accommodate a wide range of dispensing accessories. These can be reused to reduce the need for single-use plastic.

The current Sav-Ty™ prototype, with its two-part injection molded plastic design, can be clip-mounted or molded into any beverage can lid where a cutout has been drilled. The plastic parts are easier to manufacture and, at 3 grams, are much lighter than those used in the resealable can ends currently on the market.says the company.

The screw cap is molded from standard polypropylene and includes a lifting tab with visible tamper evident markers. The anti-rotation bracket and thread are formed in a 2-K mould with an integrated soft sealing system.

Sav-Ty is being developed around a set of patents, based on a novel ventilation thread and tongue opening. Working closely with leading patent companies, Sav-Ty has protected its intellectual property worldwide on multiple levels.
