LED, Sustainability, and Innovation: PrintLED’s Commitment

PrintLED’s Strategy: LED Changes the Rules of the Game

In the metal decoration industry, traditional techniques have long dominated. However, innovation continues to advance, as is the case with PrintLED, which continues to drive the transition toward more efficient and sustainable processes. This was explained by its CEO, Francesco Dattilo, during his participation at METPACK 2026.

An Early Commitment to an Emerging Technology

Since its founding in Italy in 2011, the company had a clear objective: to develop solutions based on LED technology capable of transforming metal decoration processes. At that time, it was a risky bet in a market that was not yet ready to adopt this type of advancement.

The first recognition came in 2017, when PrintLED received the Gold Innovation Award at METPACK for introducing this technology to the sector. However, as Dattilo noted, adoption was not immediate. Many companies were reluctant to modify already established production systems, which slowed the process.

Nevertheless, the company managed to make headway by working with pioneering clients interested in differentiating themselves through sustainability, cost reduction, and improved competitiveness. Today, PrintLED is present in 15 countries with 250 installations across 5 different applications within the graphic industry, an expansion driven largely by direct recommendations and word-of-mouth among clients in a highly specialized market. All installations, if the client wishes, are cloud-connected to PrintLED’s service center, ensuring continuous remote support and monitoring from Italy.

Innovation Through Ecosystem Collaboration

For PrintLED, collaboration is not optional: it is a fundamental part of its strategy. The company works closely with ink, coating, and consumables producers to ensure that the proposed solutions optimize both energy consumption and process performance.

Additionally, it maintains a continuous system upgrade strategy, incorporating new technologies in components, software, and process control. R investment focuses especially on improving lamps, drivers, and technical solutions that ensure high performance with minimal consumption. All PrintLED systems are designed, manufactured, and tested in Italy, guaranteeing the highest standards of quality and engineering precision before reaching the client.

This approach has a clear objective: the client. Each project is adapted to specific production needs, with the purpose of ensuring a fast and tangible return on investment. As Dattilo summarized, the company’s success is directly linked to that of its clients.

Sustainability with Real Impact

Beyond its own operational efficiency, PrintLED focuses on the impact it generates for its clients. Its state-of-the-art technology enables production plants to significantly reduce energy consumption—up to 80% less compared to other conventional technologies—and optimize processes, which translates into a lower environmental footprint.

Furthermore, there is a key aspect in the sector: the safety of the final product. Especially in packaging intended for mass consumption, guaranteeing high standards is essential to meet market demands.

Young Talent and Vision for the Future

PrintLED’s international growth has not been driven solely by technology. According to Dattilo, the company’s young and adaptable team has also been decisive, providing the necessary flexibility to navigate different markets and seize opportunities as they arise.

Looking to the future, the company is already working on new developments linked to artificial intelligence, with applications focused on customer service. The idea is to develop functionalities aimed at improving operational efficiency.

Growth Conditioned by Differences Between Markets

However, the path is not without challenges. Differences in technology adoption between countries remain a determining factor. While some markets, such as Italy, have integrated these solutions more quickly, others maintain a more conservative stance.

Personal relationships and direct contact with clients remain indispensable: trust is a decisive factor, especially when it comes to changes in production processes.

Despite this, PrintLED continues to grow steadily, incorporating between 30 and 40 new systems per year, relying on its flexibility and a progressive expansion strategy adapted to the reality of each market.

With a proven track record in innovation, a passionate team, and a clear vision for the future, PrintLED is well positioned to continue shaping the next chapter of metal decoration: one LED system at a time, and always from Italy to the world.
