Juntasa focuses on customization and client proximity to expand in the international packaging market.

In an increasingly competitive sector, where many companies focus their strategy on price, Juan Manuel Esteban, Managing Director of Juntasa, has a clear vision for the company’s direction: offering “tailor-made” solutions, fostering close client relationships, and prioritizing technical quality as key differentiators.

During his participation in METPACK 2026, Esteban explained how the Madrid-based company continues to consolidate its international presence while evaluating new growth opportunities and commercial expansion.

Over three decades of industrial evolution

Juntasa’s trajectory spans more than thirty years. The company began by manufacturing steel parts and, over time, evolved towards the production of rings and supports for industrial ducts. Following the 2008 economic crisis, it diversified its activity into industrial packaging, especially in solutions for drums and metal containers.

Currently, the company works for both the duct sector and packaging, developing components for metal drums, plastic containers, cardboard barrels, and industrial tinplate receptacles.

From its headquarters in Madrid, Juntasa began its growth by serving local clients, subsequently expanding throughout Spain and Portugal. Today, it has a consolidated presence in markets such as Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Portugal, while continuing to explore opportunities outside Europe.

The value of “tailor-made” solutions

One of the company’s key pillars, according to Esteban, is the importance of customization. The company defines its philosophy as “Tailor-Made,” a business approach based on adapting each solution to the specific process of each client.

In a seemingly standardized product like a drum ring, small variations can completely alter the behavior of the closure or the entire assembly. For this reason, Juntasa dedicates a significant part of its work to adjusting profiles and technical specifications according to the needs of each factory.

“We want clients to value quality, service, and technical adaptation,” Esteban explained.

Responsiveness

Customer service is another of the company’s pillars. According to Esteban, the priority when facing any problem is to act quickly and first identify the root cause of the failure before deciding how to resolve it.

The company utilizes tools such as video calls and remote analysis to evaluate incidents in real time and determine whether the solution should be implemented at the client’s plant or from its own facilities.

This flexibility helps reduce downtime and minimize operational impact, especially in international exports where distance can complicate on-site interventions.

International Growth

Although Juntasa considers itself a well-known company within some European markets, its objective is to continue expanding coverage and identify opportunities in regions and products where industrial packaging requires its customized products.

The company specifically seeks markets where technical value and quality outweigh cost, as competing solely on price against low-cost manufacturers does not align with its strategy.

In parallel, it will continue to carefully evaluate the return on investment of each international trade fair to decide where to concentrate its commercial resources in the coming years.
