Finnish stainless steel producer Outokumpu has announced the sale of its sheet metal service in Castelleone, Italy, which will go to one of its largest domestic customers, the Mariotti stainless steel group.
The purchase of Mariotti will thus add to its existing stainless steel service centers in northern Italy, located in Pontevico (Brescia) and Gravellona Toce (Verbania). However, Outokumpu’s coil service center will remain at the same site operating normally and will continue to sell heavy quarto plate to distributors and pipe producers as before.
The company also notes that all on-site plate services and operations, as well as machines and inventory, will be transferred to Mariotti, along with existing contracts and sales orders, with some exceptions.
